HOW CAN A NORMAL TRAIN RAISE HILLS VERY SLOPES?(by claudia mg)
As we are seeing the gears in class this is a good example of how we  can find also this mechanism on railway tracks in places where there is a steep uphill. In this case, you run the risk that the skid rail and that is why between tracks a rack meshing with a drive sprocket attached to the train is. Obviously, turning facilitates steep rise without risk of slipping. This train need to cross the Pyrinees and to not slip uses gears to make more power.
